We've just run our second Hypopressives in Your Pocket® training this year for NHS pelvic health physios. Thank you to Ruth Hopper for organising the training at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust and for Emily and Jana for helping me run this huge course for 25 pelvic health physios based in the West Midlands!
We spent the morning taking a deep dive into hypopressives, the basics of the technique, hypopressives for pelvic health benefits, the most up-to-date research evidence plus case studies from the work we are doing through our Create Lift Programme ®.
We were particularly focusing on using hypopressives within the current pelvic health guidlines, which patients it's going to be particularly helpful for, so those who struggle to squeeze their pelvic floor and access PFMT, those who have tried PFMT but haven't found symptom relief and for those with a hypertonic pelvic floor.
The afternoon session was a deep dive into practical teaching, getting everyone started with the breathwork and poses and then more practical application.
So great to see interest in hypopressives spreading and it was also great to be back in the NHS, where it all started for me, working as a gynae nurse.
If you're interested in a Hypopressives in Your Pocket ® training day for your department / region, please get in touch,
