Pelvic organ prolapse is a condition that affects up to 50% of women during their lifetime. For some, symptoms are minimal, but for many others, it’s life-changing—bringing discomfort, emotional strain, and limitations to daily activities. Traditional treatments like pelvic floor muscle training work for some, but not for all. This gap is where the Create Lift Programme ® comes in, offering a new way forward for women using a technique called hypopressives.

In December, we published the first UK service evaluation of a hypopressives program for prolapse, and the results were really positive. Let’s dive into what we discovered and why this matters for women everywhere.

Improvements Reported by Women: Hypopressives for Pelvic Organ Prolapse Symptoms

When we looked at the data from 140 women who completed the 14-week Create Lift Programme with a diagnosed prolapse, the improvements were really positice. On average, women reported a 73% improvement in combined prolapse symptoms and quality of life (QOL) scores. Breaking that down:

  • Prolapse-specific symptoms like heaviness and discomfort improved by a 74% median score

  • Quality of life areas such as physical activity and social confidence saw a 71% median improvement

These numbers show that hypopressives are more than just an exercise method—and they could be a game-changer for women with prolapse.

Fewer Women Opting for Surgery

Before starting the program, 44% of women said they were considering surgery to manage their prolapse symptoms. Surgery is often seen as the last resort, but it’s invasive, costly, and comes with risks. After completing the Create Lift Programme ®, only 10% of women were still considering surgery.

This highlights how hypopressives could offer a potential alternative to surgery for women wanting to reduce their symptoms.

Quick Wins: Results in Just Weeks

One of the most encouraging findings was how quickly women began to feel the benefits. On average, women noticed initial improvements within just four weeks of starting the programme. For those struggling with prolapse, even small changes can make a world of difference, and seeing progress early is really motivating and empowering.

Stories That Speak Volumes

While the statistics are important, the real magic comes from hearing women talk about their journeys. Here are just a few quotes from women who took part in the program:

“I now rarely experience sensation or discomfort in my vagina. I am able to go for longer walks and do other forms of exercise without increasing symptoms. I don't think about it all the time anymore and can focus on my life again!”

“New hope for the future with steady improvements to my symptoms. I can bounce on the trampoline with my kids after avoiding it for years, also no visible prolapse bulge anymore.”

“I now have the confidence to leave the house and pick up my daughter without fearing my prolapse dropping lower.”

These personal stories show how the Create Lift Programme ® isn’t just about managing symptoms—it’s about giving women their lives back.

A Better Way to Manage POP

The Create Lift Programme ® has demonstrated that it provides meaningful symptom relief for women, enhancing quality of life, and reducing the need for surgery. It’s a holistic approach that addresses not just the physical challenges of prolapse but also the emotional and mental toll it can take.

For anyone feeling stuck or frustrated with traditional treatments, hypopressives offer a fresh and enjoyable option to get back on track. And with many women seeing results within weeks, the program is as practical as it is transformative.
